TSG Downloads: Spectral Libraries

Back to Download

To assist you in building your spectral geology expertise, a couple of spectral libraries are included here for download. These are

  •     Reference spectra of common minerals: these are a collection of the class mean spectra from the TSA SWIR training library of common minerals.  This small library is also installed with each TSG installation.
  •     USGS Sample Collection:  A series of PIMA spectra in TSG format from the comprehensive mineral collection at the USGS. Measured by Jon Huntington. Save this file onto your computer and then unzip the TSG Viewer files. Please take the time to read the small "readme.txt" file which will give you some background on these spectra.

These libraries can be attached as "Aux" files to your TSG files, and then overlaid with your project spectra to assist in your interpretations.

These libraries are also particularly useful if your project area includes more exotic minerals that may not be represented in the in-built reference library in TSG.  More libraries will be added in time, from user feedback and various research developments.
