Which TSG?

If you are new to TSG and need help in choosing the correct TSG option for you, below is a discussion on which TSG would suit different requirements and applications. To assist with the application of TSG to your particular needs, please contact TSG Enquiries.

TSG Viewer is a viewing only version of TSG, with no processing capabilities. It is intended for organisations and companies who wish to disseminate the information in fully processed spectral and HyLogging data sets to non experts and colleagues.

TSG Lite is designed for the novice user who wishes to trial out TSG capabilities OR for the more expert user who prefers to carry out manual interpretation on small spectral data sets (of <5000 spectra). The more experienced user can use the spectral maths capabilities to output spectrally derived mineral indices (spectral parameters).  The novice user can take advantage of the copy processing capabilities to process their project spectra using a template TSG file set up by an expert to automatically output processed results on their spectra.  All users can use the aux match capabilities to carry out search-match analysis of their project spectra against a custom library.

TSG Pro is for the novice and experienced users of geological spectral data, who intend to use spectral data routinely in their projects.  It can handle larger data sets than TSG Lite (up to 10K), and also includes The Spectral Assistant (TSA). TSG Pro includes all the processing capabilities of TSG Lite as well as some more advanced functionality such as classification in the Scatter Screen.

TSG Core is for those expert users who are handling very large data sets (>10K) and who also need advanced processing capabilities. It is the required software for handling HyLoggingTM data sets. It includes all the processing capabilities of TSG Pro but with added functionality suitable for those more expert users who wish to streamline their processing and get just that little bit more out of their data.

TSG Hot Core is a research grade beta version available only on application.  TSG-Enterprise and its partner HyLogging Web Browser are enhancements to TSG Core and are under development for future release.

The table below is to assist users in understanding in more detail the different functionality of the various TSG options available (and some yet to come), to help you choose which TSG option would be suitable for your spectral geology applications.  Note that it is not an exhaustive list of all the TSG functionality but mostly of those functions that differ between the different options, as well as some future versions of TSG which are currently being developed.
